Satellite Workshop of the
 

National Network of IDeA-Funded Core Laboratories (NICL)


 

 You are invited to attend Building Resources: The National Network of IDeA-Funded Core Laboratories (NICL) Satellite Workshop on Saturday, February 7, 2009, 4:30-6:30pm, in Memphis, TN.

This NICL satellite meeting will be held in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Association of Biomolecular Resource Facilities, entitled ABRF 2009: Application and Optimization of Existing and Emerging Biotechnologies, that will be held February 7-10, 2009, in Memphis, TN.   For information and registration to the ABRF 2009 meeting, please go to http://abrf2009.org.

All ABRF 2009 meeting attendees affiliated with cores located in one of the 23 IDeA states (Alaska, Arkansas, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, Wyoming) and Puerto Rico are encouraged to attend this satellite workshop.

There is no additional meeting registration fee to attend the NICL satellite workshop.  However, an e-mail registration request is required to attend this workshop. 

NICL's mission is to promote and facilitate information exchange regarding the operation and management of IDeA core facilities by:

  • Providing a mentoring environment by making resources available to new cores.
  • Providing a forum to discuss core management issues.
  • Sharing information and training on new technologies.
  • Helping with long range planning and growth (sustainable cores).
  • Facilitating interaction and collaboration between IDeA-funded cores.
  • Promoting IDeA-wide interaction/collaboration between cores’ customers (COBRE/INBRE-funded PIs).

 

The NICL Steering Committee and the NICL Satellite Workshop Organizing Committee includes Katia Sol-Church (Center for Pediatric Research, NCC-Delaware), Timothy Hunter (University of Vermont), Stephen Bobin (Dartmouth Medical School), Steven Jennings (University of Arkansas at Little Rock), and Faye Schilkey (New Mexico Genome Sequencing Center).
